Biography

TOMCATS was a short-lived 1990 union between players from two highly rated acts, ICON and KING KOBRA, that both folded after failing to live up to expectations garnered by impressive debut offerings. Featured would be the erstwhile ICON pairing of guitarist Dan Wexler and drummer Pat Dixon, vocalist Tommy Dean, guitarist David Michael Phillips (a.k.a. Dave Henzerling) of the THE SCHOOLBOYS, KEEL, GERONIMO and KING KOBRA plus bassist Tom Rucci. When this unit folded, Dean jumped ship to ASPHALT BALLET.

Dan Wexler recorded rhythm guitar with ALICE COOPER on the studio track 'Lost In America' for his 'Fistful Of Alice' album. The guitarist also co-wrote four tracks on ALICE COOPER's 'Last Temptation' concept album. Wexler would also aid songstress LYDIAN with her 1989 demos, his material later turning up on the 'With a Vengeance' album. 2002 found Wexler in THIEVES IN THE TEMPLE, issuing the album 'Thick As Thieves'.

Phillips forged the grandly titled BIG COCK with the LYNCH MOB, ADRIAN DODZ and MAGNUM credited Robert Mason for an album in 2005, this opus including a re-work of the TOMCATS tune 'Cinnamon'.
