LORD TRACY

Biography

A band put together during 1985 by original PANTERA front man Terrance Lee Glaze, LORD TRACY was originally called 3D ("Doctors of Death and Demonology") and then TRACI LORDS in honour of the one-time American porn starlet. However, the lady in question - harbouring musical ambitions of her own - objected, so a slight name change had to be made. Terry Lee Glaze had recorded three albums with PANTERA before quitting. He originally had the intention of working with bassist Kinley Wolfe in a brand new band, but it transpired that he wound up joining the bassist's group. This unit, featuring former SOUTHERN CREED guitarist Jimmy Rusidoff and ex-LIGHTNING drummer Chris Craig, evolved into LORD TRACY.

The group was signed by MCA subsidiary UNI Records in 1988 and began recording with producer Mark Dodson in April 1989. The record was released later the same year. Touring included supports to BAD ENGLISH and ACE FREHLEY. However, believing the record company had failed to support the album sufficiently brought about internal tensions and Glaze quit. LORD TRACY drafted a singer out of Atlanta named Doug, but dissolved sometime in 1991.

Post LORD TRACY Rusidorff united with bass player Larry Earl Brown and drummer Randy Barnett to forge JIMMY R AND THE RHYTHM RATS, subsequently evolving into THE JIMMYR BAND.

LORD TRACY reunited for live shows in 2004.
