THE BROUGHT LOW deliver Southern style retro roots Rock from the depths of New York. The band's lineage traces back through acts such as MURPHY'S LAW and THE VOLUPTUOUS HOUR OF KAREN BLACK with bassist Dean Rispler and SWEET DIESEL with frontman Benjamin Howard Smith. Rispler is a well known figure on the Manhattan music scene with his Punk label Go Kart Records and production credits with acts such as BAD WIZARD. He also operates with 70s melodic Rockers TIGER MOUNTAIN.

2004 witnessed a brace of split releases as the band donated the track 'Vernon Jackson' to a Maggadee Records 7" single shared with THE MONUMENTALS and Arclight Records assembled an alliance with DIXIE WITCH.
