Toledo Metalcore outfit PREMONITIONS OF WAR, founded in September 2000 by guitarists Pay Meyers and Mike Gayten plus drummer Dustin Schoenhofer, released a self-titled demo EP in their opening year of operation, these tracks featuring T. Amstutz on vocals and Anthony Amstutz on bass. First commercial product would be the 2002 offering 'The True Faces Of Panic', released by Goodfellow Records in November, this featuring newly installed members Brad Wharton on vocals and Nick Hale on bass. Live work saw support shows to THE RED CHORD, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.

The group, although parting ways with Nick Hale in December of 2003, continued touring apace across North America into March of 2004 allied with 'Murder Metal' exponents MACABRE. New man on bass would be Adam Wentworth, previously with THE RED CHORD. They would then form up part of MORBID ANGEL's April 'American Heretic' dates partnered with SUFFOCATION. Hale rejoined the fold in April of 2004.

Signing to Black Market Activities PREMONITIONS OF WAR cut an EP 'Glorified Dirt'. In side activity, guitarist Mike Gayten sessioned on RAMALLAH's 'Kill A Celebrity' album. US touring in September saw the band supporting SIX FEET UNDER, INTERNAL BLEEDING and MISERY SIGNALS. The band drafted Cory Grady of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER as their new drummer in December. Ex-drummer Dustin Schoenhofer joined WALLS OF JERICHO that same month. More internal rumblings that same month saw the exit of Hale again, quickly superseded by Dan Garcia.

The group opened 2005 with a major nationwide US tour backed by BURY YOUR DEAD, FULL BLOWN CHAOS and WALLS OF JERICHO through January and February. A rash of Canadian gigs throughout April had the band packaged with ION DISSONANCE and DESPISED ICON. Two former PREMONITIONS OF WAR members, vocalist Nate Johnson and guitarist Nick Hale, joined BURNT BY THE SUN in July. That September, Dan Garcia enrolled into the ranks of RAMALLAH. In March 2007 ex-singer Nate Johnson joined THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD.
