Biography

Industrial, gloom tinged Nu-Metal act founded in 1987 as YESTERDAY'S TEAR. Switched titles to DROWN in 1989. DROWN scored a major coup by signing to Elektra Records for their debut record 'Hold On To The Hollow' but were dropped shortly after. Bassist Rob Nicholson joined PRONG then DANZIG. He would go on to WHITE ZOMBIE and ROB ZOMBIE under the new pseudonym of 'Blasko'.

DROWN signed to Geffen but although another album was recorded and ready to go Geffen passed. The album eventually emerged on Mercury subsidiary Slipdisc.

The 1999 'Kerosene' single features ORGY's Ryan Shuck on guitar. DROWN toured America with CLUTCH to promote the record. With DROWN's eventual collapse frontman Lauren Boquette, Patrick Sprawl and Sean Demott founded FAMOUS, gaining valuable exposure on the SLAYER headlined 'Tattoo The Earth' North American tour. However, with Sprawl and Demott then opting out Boquette persevered as SIX. Ex-DROWN drummer Marco Forcone re-emerged with HUMAN LAB. Nicholson was back in the news in December of 2003, joining OZZY OSBOURNE's band. However, his tenure would be brief and the ex-bassist subsequently forged THE DEATH RIDERS, signing to Horror High Records for a 2005 debut album 'Soundtrack For Depression'.
