Biography

April 2005 finally saw the re-emergence of JANE'S ADDICTION and PORNO FOR PYROS vocalist Perry Farrell, announcing the construction of a brand new band unit entitled SATELLITE PARTY in collaboration with a high profile guitar partner in former EXTREME man NUNO BETTENCOURT and percussionist Gabriele Corcos. The band scheduled a performance at the July Chicago 'Lollapalooza' event, seeing NO DOUBT's Tony Kanal acting as special guest bassist. The collective would be expanded to incorporate contributions from RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' Flea and John Frusciante, British electronic duo HYBRID, BLACK EYED PEAS' Fergie, NEW ORDER bassist Peter Hook and former PORNO FOR PYROS guitarist Peter DiStefano.

SATELLITE PARTY's live inauguration came with a 18th July gig at West Hollywood's Key Club. The live band line-up comprised Farrell, Bettencourt, Kanal, Steve Ferlazzo from TRIBE OF JUDAH, POPULATION 1 and DRAMAGODS on keyboards plus POPULATION 1 and DRAMAGODS drummer Kevin "Figg" Figueiredo.

SATELLITE PARTY signed to Columbia Records in June 2006.

Although EXTREME reunited for a new album in 2009, that November Nuno Bettencourt revealed he had been hired as a session touring guitarist for R&B diva RIHANNA.
