Biography
It would be learned in early 2005 that former MEGADETH bassist Dave Ellefson had convened a brand new band unit entitled ENEMY OF GOD. This alliance found Ellefson partnered with the SLAYER, TESTAMENT and PUSHED credited Jon Dette on drums, PUSHED, STREAM, BELLADONNA and KILLING MACHINE French guitarist Peter Scheithauer and Todd Barnes of 13-A on vocals. In April the project, replacing Dette with W.A.S.P. drummer Stet Howland, switched title to TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY. A debut album, 'Lethal Agenda' recorded at Alternative Sound Studios in Fort Meyers, Florida, would see completion in July. Promotion included a video clip for the title track filmed with director Fabio Jafet.
In August Ellefson substituted for a brace of SOULFLY gigs in Tempe, Arizona and Long Beach, California, regular bassist Bobby Burns forced to miss the shows due to a "family emergency". Word arrived in January 2006 that Ellefson, alongside former MEGADETH drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, was featured in RONNIE MONTROSE's live band and on his album 'Ronnie Montrose and Friends: 10x10'.
Upfront of the debut album, 'Lethal Agenda', TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY hooked up with the Jägermeister sponsored CHIMAIRA, ARCH ENEMY and HATE ETERNAL US tour in late April 2006. European dates set for October saw MASTER and Denmark's SUBMISSION as intended openers. However, this tour was cancelled shortly before kick off.
In September Ellefson temped for SOULFLY's North American dates after regular bassist Bobby Burns suffered a mild stroke.
Demolition Records granted 'Lethal Agenda' a North American release on February 20th 2007. THE ALLKNOWING was set to support TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY on nationwide US dates in March. However, these shows were cancelled, with a statement reading "unfortunate circumstances landed the agent in the hospital and unable to complete his duties in securing signed contracts, deposits, and proper advancement."
